that is the coolest family video EVER! that's something you can watch when they've reached their wonderful teenage years and say "what did we do wrong?"
We keep them over night, and let em go in the morning. They live a couple days in the jars though. We have tried the nitelight thing, but they stop flashing after a couple of minutes. you have to stir them up to keep them going.

They look so magical! TN has some serious fireflies. I remember seeing them everywhere when I went there one summer.
How fun, and most kids never experience that. Will they be out in October.
They stick around for a month or so, long enough to love em and leave em

Amazing! How long do they live in those jars? Do you use them as night lights?
