33! (Part 2)

Happy Birthday, Travis!

Now it's his turn for a birthday, so I thought I'd post a little something in honor of my wonderful husband. We've had quite the month, what with the baby, 2 birthdays, and the kids starting school. (Thank goodness, today is Jack's first full day of school and he'll start going everyday now!) And now, we only have this one last week before I start back at work and Travis will be home by himself with the baby, and then Jack, and then Grace. I know he'll do fine though, since he really is an awesome stay-at-home Dad. I may not do as well -- I've been really spoiled by being home with the family for the last (almost) 2 months and I'll miss not being around all day. Travis, I know, can't wait -- he's anxious to be able to play guitar when and wherever he wants without my interrupting him or asking him to turn it down or my wanting to watch TV without his guitar playing medley as background music (the medley is pretty awesome and he plays it awesomely. I don't know all the songs in his practice medley, but I do recognize the Metallica parts, which include One, Fade to Black, and Master of Puppets. I'm pretty sure there's Pantera in there, but I'm not familiar enough with their playlist to recognize those. And I think there's an original composition somewhere in there too.)

So Happy Birthday Travis! The best husband, friend, dad, kick-ass guitar player in the world. And who -- as of this weekend -- has conquered the Floyd Rose guitar.

School

Just a quick update on the kids.

Grace is doing good this year. She did a presentation of her favorite things in front of the class on her first week. She is talking to everybody, and doing all of her work. This teacher has it easy. She got the scoop on Grace before they started, but I think this year will prove to be a different story for her. The only thing the same is, she will not walk into the school on her own yet. They have spoiled her. I talk to her every morning, telling her that she needs to walk in by herself, and it never fails, someone is there waiting to escort her. Im thinking when her and Jack are both going in together, she will follow him in, to make sure he goes to the right place.

Jack went one day last week, and will go this thursday. They do the kids in shifts for the first 2 weeks, then next week, they will all start going every day. His first day was a good one. 3 different teachers came up to the truck after school to tell me how sweet he was. Apparently, one of his classmates had a bad day, and Jack coached him through the whole process. He is so compassionate. His teacher is very excited about him. She is a good one. The type that could have retired long ago, but just loves the kids.

Its really cool having 2 of them going to school. They keep teasing me, though with this one day here, one day there with Jack. I cant wait for both kids to be in school, and Raegan to go back to work. It sounds mean, but its not meant like that.. Its so much easier to do stuff around the house when its quiet, or there are less distractions. It will be nice to be able to get on, and stay on top of things. Just me and Luke here will be cool. At the same time, I know I'll miss them all.

Big day

Jack has been waiting for this day for 3 years! He took control of the conversation as soon as he got in the class. His teacher was explaining in very painful detail, to a couple other kids, all of the things to do when they get there in the morning. When she turned to explain it all again to Jack, she was suprised that he allready took care of it all. She has a lot to learn! The last thing he told me, before bed last night, was "daddy, Im gonna do so good". I believe it. When Me and Grace left his class, he stopped talking about his dogs, saying "excuse me... Bye daddy, I love you. Did you hear me?" Then right back into the one sided conversation he went, all the kids with big Wow expressions on their faces. It was too much. Grace is very excited that her little brother is finally at her school. All of the faculty knows his name. Apparently she has been preparing them all. I started a new thing. When I pick them up, I bring one of the dogs, and park a couple blocks away, so we can all walk. The dogs have more fun than the kids, I think. Luke is doing good. He is back on the breast, and is starting to sleep more at night, staying awake more during the day. Im typing all this with one hand. He is half awake, smiling little milk smiles and grunting. Its so quiet here this morning. Btw, check out Jack's shirt. It looks so poindexter until you look again. His mom buys his shirts, she says only ones I would approve of. He has some cool ones.

Dont cry over me!

I promised Dixie, on her blog, that Id make a vid on tearless onions. Here it is. It takes practice to keep from feeling anything at all, but you will notice a big difference the first time, guaranteed.

33!

My girl is 33 today.

Here she tells Daddy that sher really likes the hair.

She is hungry here.

She really looked allot like Luke. She was chubbier, and had a longer face, but the nose, eyes, and mouth look the same. Im so happy that this one looks so much like Mommy. Jack asks us every 5 min. "Are you so happy that we have a baby?" "Did you wish we had a baby?" " Why do you like baby's?" "Are baby's so cute?", allways in that order. He asks more frequently when its 4am, if the baby wakes him up, and you're tired and frustrated. But I digress. I asked Raegan if my giving her Luke a couple weeks ago would be a good enough birthday present, just trying to rile her up. She didnt even hesitate with a yes, though. And she was sincere. She is so cute with him. Every time she looks at him, she kisses his forehead, every time she moves him to a different spot, or he makes a noise, or any other reason. She is a great mother, and Im very lucky to have her. She has given me 3 great kids. We have spent the past couple weeks doing things all together, since she isnt supposed to drive yet. We go places, and its really awesome to have Grace and Jack with their little personalities, and baby Luke with us. We have fun doing absolutelly nothing, just sitting down watching them. Today is Grace's first day of 3rd grade. We will celebrate the birthday, and the first day tonight, and Im very excited. Anyway, happy birthday Raegan. 33!
